When I was creating the chocolate products available in the North South Confections range, I drew on personal experiences, as well as the people and experiences around me. Looking at the various flavors and textures that have been incorporated, it really starts to feel as if each chocolate has developed its own unique personality and voice – one that can be matched to your own. Here is how I would pair a chocolate according to the zodiac signs.
~ For the Earth signs
Earth grounds us, and the three earth signs—Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn—tend to be stable and practical. For these rational thinkers I recommend the Midnight Fire chocolate bar as it perfectly harmonises their strong, dependable side represented by the smoked whisky aromas with the unexpected flavors and crunch of old-fashioned toffee – creating a chocolate perfect for the complex emotional within the Earth signs.
~ For the Fire signs
What would we do without our spontaneous, passionate and intuitive Water friends–Aries, Leo and Sagittarius? For these intuitive personalities I recommend the Sunset Spice chocolate bar – this sweet milk chocolate bar starts off creamy and a little reserved and then delivers an unapologetic hit of heat thanks to a dose of chili pepper – true to the fiery nature of this sign.
~ For the Air signs
The air signs–Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius–are the thinkers, communicators, and doers of the zodiac. They analyze, synthesize, and probe. They have a “live and let live” mentality. For these free-spirits I recommend the Whiskey Salted Caramels as they are playful yet deeply considered.
~ For the Water signs
Water signs—Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces—are known for being sensitive and sentimental. They are emotional and creative, and rely on their hearts and gut to make a decision. To tap into their nostalgic side, I recommend the Mello Dark Drinking Chocolate as it will transport them back to their younger years where they could enjoy a mug of hot chocolate next to the fire or curled up on the couch.
Of course, our palates are inquisitive and complex – so try something new. Who knows what you may discover.
